Meshes of the Afternoon is a 1943 short avant-garde film directed by Maya Deren. The film deals in matters of dream states and psychology as a women falls asleep on her couch and encounters different versions of herself, a hooded figure with a mirror for a face, as well as various household items that encapsulate deeper symbolic meaning. This film is an amazing trip through a cyclical dream scenario that has elements of mystery and horror.
